Your first choice for a perfect, combined, cycling & Family holiday in Cyprus

What you need to Bring With You

You will need to bring a suitable compact fitted road bike. There is a skilled Mechanic nearby, however, should something go wrong, you need to be fully aware that in Cyprus bicycle parts and spares for high end road bikes may be difficult to find. Cyprus is a small island and bicycle shops here are not always as geared up as UK bike shops, in terms of bike sales, workshop facilities and high end parts. As such it is imperative that you bring any items you need to keep your own bike 'rolling' such as:

Spare tubes

Tyres, levers, puncture kit

Suitable spare spoke(s) for your specific wheels

On bike pump

Spare chain link/hyper link

Two water bottles and cages fitted to your bike

Spare road shoe cleat

Bike-specific Multi tool

Road helmet: THIS IS A REQUIREMENT ON BIKE TRIP CYPRUS RIDES

Cycle clothing suited to the season you visit

Good quality puncture resistant road tyres are a must (Schwalbe Durano Plus/Ultremo 23/25s are excellent)

Your Bike Flight Bag

We  advise you to bring 'walkable’ road shoes/MTB shoes with cleats. Riding with non-recessed cleats is fine of course however there are times off the bike, on rides, where to get the most of the experience you may not wish to be in standard non recessed road shoes.

Please ride with a working mobile phone.

Be advised that should major repairs be required, such as new rims, cassette etc., it is possible that matching parts for your particular brand of bike will not be available. As such it is VERY IMPORTANT that you ensure your bike is fully serviced (with any old parts replaced) before you arrive. We take no responsibility for any curtailment of rides due to mechanical failure of your bicycle during your stay.

You will need a Valid Passport for all crossings to and from South/North/South. This includes getting from Larnaca Airport to Caesar Resort. Without one you will not be allowed into Northern Cyprus, or back to Southern Cyprus. Please ensure it is valid for the duration of your stay.

The local currency in Northern Cyprus is Turkish Lira. You will also need Euros for any time spent in Southern Cyprus. Please bring back up Visa cards etc., but do not rely on them in local shops where cash is the expected norm. Local banks are friendly and efficient, and there are automatic cash withdrawal points.

Please bring a valid Drivers Licence should you intend hiring a car, and your valid EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) should any medical treatment be required on the Southern side of the Green Line only (it is not Valid in the Northern part of Cyprus).

The resort benefits from a relaxed casual atmosphere so there is no need to bring formal evening wear as most live in shorts and T shirts etc.  Evenings can sometimes become cool, so bring suitable light warm clothing should you wish to sit out.

Flying your bike couldn't be easier, Just use a quality padded bike flight bag. We suggest you pack clothing around the bike, and protect your derailleur with your helmet. You will need to remove your pedals so don't forget your spanner! All kit can be packed in with the bike. Bikes cost approximately £45 with Easy Jet. When flying with your Bicycle to Cyprus travel light on Clothes, heavy on bike kit and spares.

Travelling with your Bike to Northern Cyprus.

Since 2004, when the Republic of Cyprus joined the EU, it has become much easier to cross the border between North and South.  Locals cross the Cyprus border daily to shop, do business or just visit. If you are a tourist visiting North Cyprus, all you need to do is present your passport (and visa, if you need one for South Cyprus) at the Turkish Cypriot passport control, who will give you a white slip to fill out with your name, passport number and nationality. It is this white visa form that will be stamped by the Northern Cyprus border authorities, NOT your passport. Once over the North Cyprus border, your passport will be checked again by the Greek Cypriot authorities. You can cross the Northern Cyprus border as many times as you like, and stay as long as you want. The border crossings are open 24 hours a day.

To avoid delay at the border customs point please bring with you proof of purchase of your bicycle in the UK. We also ask you to keep your flight ticket showing your bicycle booked on your return flight home, this can be useful when crossing the border with a group of expensive bicycles. You are strongly advised not to bring any unused still store boxed/wrapped bicycles.

In Cyprus you will ride on the left, the same as in the UK.
